DeClassified Music | About

DeClassified Music (DCM) is about presenting exploratory chamber music.

With Brieley Cutting as Artistic Director and support from Rue Arts, DCM aims to be a home for making music that is exciting, virtuosic, beautiful and adventurous, with a focus on non-mainstream.

Initially based in Brisbane, DCM is an award-winning and innovative chamber music concert series. Reviews of live performances have included “lived up to high expectations” (Brisbane Weekender), “a great addition to the Brisbane Scene” (RealTime Arts), “one of the best and most exciting ‘jazz with strings’ recordings that I’ve heard” (The Jazz Mann), and "who knew classical music could be so fun, am I right?" (The Factory Diaries).

Now based in Sydney, Brieley once again uses DCM to platform collaborative music projects, the catalyst being her Electro Lieder show created and produced with composer Mark Oliveiro, this receiving a nomination for Best in Music in the 2023 Sydney Fringe Festival.
